It seems that for 300 years everything has already been written about Mikhail Vasilievich Lomonosov. And about how early he was left an orphan ... And how he didn’t get along with his stepmother ... How his father wanted to marry him, and he escaped from home to Moscow ... And how he starved, eating only "for money and money for kvass" ... And how they laughed at his fellow practitioners as a child of great age ... And how he overcame everything, learned and became one of the pillars of Russian science, the "first Russian university" ...
Nevertheless, in his biography there are still many white spots that leave room for all kinds of judgments, interpretations, errors ... For example, do you know that right after the death of M.V. Lomonosov in his laboratory with indecent haste was the most thorough search? The glorious Count Grigory Orlov himself, the favorite of Catherine, did not disdain to take part in it personally. Many papers that day forever disappeared from the archives of the scientist. And where they are now, is still unknown. Nevertheless, Count Orlov could not find the most important document, because of which, in fact, the entire search was launched. What was the luminous count and his accomplices looking for?
To answer this question, we will have to analyze the whole life of Mikhail Vasilievich Lomonosov and even the secret of his birth. More recently, the exact place of his birth was established - the village of Mishaninskaya, near Kholmogor, Arkhangelsk province. His birthday dates from Mikhail Day (November 8, old style) on November 20, 1711.
It is believed that Lomonosov was the son of a farmer-Pomor Vasily Dorofeev. But under what circumstances he acquired a passion for science and the name of Lomonosov, is unknown. Rumor has it that the fisherman’s son was actually a child ... an alien, or at least a side son of a certain noble rank. Some sources even indicate that Peter the Great himself could have been the real father of the boy! However, there is still no great faith in such versions ...
It is known for certain that Lomonosov himself called the "Grammar" of Meletius Smotrytsky and the "Arithmetic" of Leonty Magnitsky "the gates of his scholarship". Both of these books occupy a prominent place in the culture of our country, characterize the level of science and education in Russia reached by the beginning of the 18th century.
However, just reading and talking with experienced people could hardly have awakened in the Pomeranian son such a passionate desire to study so that he would go to Moscow in the winter of 1730. And at the age of 20, having gone on a deliberate forgery (he impersonated himself as the son of a priest), he entered the university of that time - the Zaikonospassky Theological Academy, where he underwent everything - both the ridicule of his fellow practitioners and hunger. Is it really all - and further trials abroad, and many years of work from dark to dark - only in order to be called the "first Russian university"? No, it seems that he still had some secret purpose. Which one? ..
Nikolai Ivanovich Kostomarov, one of the most prominent historians of the Lomonosov era, hinted somehow that the sources of the asceticism of Mikhail Vasilievich should be sought in his homeland.
In the North at that time lived the most powerful magicians. There was a couple of trifles for them to spin a viewer or to put a storm on the sea. However, it seems that they were not omnipotent. Otherwise, they would not have come to Vasily Lomonosov on the eve of the birth of his son. Moreover, they knew not only the gender of the unborn child, but also gave him, not yet born, a responsible task. And for his performance as an advance Vasily was poured so much money that he immediately became one of the richest people in the region. I got a manor with a house, a fish pond and even my own ship.
Well, what did the sorcerers want in return?
