The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg (Blueprints)

This book informs what in actual habits are! (they control you subconsciously).
And, how to master the art of controlling them and in turn yourself

1. The Cue - for a habit can be anything that triggers the habit. Cues most generally fall under the following categories: a location, a time of day, other people, an emotional state, or an immediately preceding action.

2. The Routine - is the most obvious element: it's the behavior you wish to change or reinforce.

3. The Reward - is the reason the brain decides the previous steps are worth remembering for the future. The reward provides positive reinforcement for the desired behavior, making it more likely that you will produce that behavior again in the future.

We highly recommend that you buy the book The Power of Habit - by Charles Duhigg and read it if you haven't.

Charles Duhigg (born 1974) is a Pulitzer-prize winning American journalist and non-fiction author. He was a reporter for The New York Times and is the author of two books on habits and productivity, titled The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business and Smarter Faster Better.
