The temple is the parish of the Russian Orthodox Church, which is part of the Moscow city diocese, Northern Vicariate, Znamensky deanery. A Sunday school has been opened at the parish, a youth movement has been created, pilgrimages are organized, the parish feeds City Clinical Hospital No. 81, at which there is a Chapel in honor of the righteous John of Kronstadt. Archpriest Dimitry Sinitsyn confesses and partakes of the sick, together with the youth activists of the parish congratulates the sick, prepares gifts for all for major holidays.
In 2012, public public hearings were held at the Dmitrovsky District Council, following which a decision was made to allocate a site to the temple community at ul. Sophia Kovalevskaya, ow.14. At the beginning of 2013, the construction of a temporary temple began (see virtual tour of the temple).
The parish community of the church of St. Matrona of Moscow in Dmitrovsky was created in December 2007. The temple is included in the program for the construction of 200 churches in Moscow.
On April 28, 2013, on the feast of Palm Sunday, the first Liturgy was served in the temporary Temple. November 27, 2013, construction work began on the construction of the main temple.
On August 27, 2014, a ceremonial laying of the capsule with a diploma by Vladyka Mark Archbishop Egorievsky took place in the temple under construction.

On September 7, 2015, the installation of the Main Dome and the Cross was carried out.
On April 14, 2016, the bells were consecrated for the belfry, which had been delivered from the factory the day before. Bells began to be cast in January this year at the Moscow LITEKS Bell Foundry, and after 3 months a ready belfry of 10 bells weighing from 4 kg and up to 450 kg arrived at the construction site of the church.
April 28, 2016 on Bright Thursday in the lower church in honor of the righteous John of Kronstadt held the first service.
On May 2, 2016, on the feast day on the day of memory of the Blessed Matrona of Moscow, the Divine Liturgy was held, which was led by the administrator of the Northern Vicariate, Bishop Bronnitsky Paramon. Vladyka praised the pace of construction of our church and thanked our rector Archpriest Dimitri Sinitsyn for this.

There is a social service at the church: large families, single, poor people and those who are left homeless receive help: food and things. The temple has a Sunday school, a children's military sports school. Gospel readings are held on weekends with the prior. Teachers from the Academy of the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra teach Gospel courses.
