Ratih Purwasih (born in Cilegon, April 1, 1966) is an Indonesian singer who was popular in the era of the '80s.
Is the younger brother of the famous singer Endang S. Taurina, this is what makes it easier for him to pursue a career in the national music industry. Not surprisingly, when releasing their first album entitled "between hate and miss", in 1986, the figure of Endang still needed to be featured on the back cover to show that they were both brothers. Ratih's voice tends to be soft, and is fitting for the sweet pop genre of the powerful songwriter Obbie Mesakh who was booming at that time.
Obbie's flagship song immediately slipped into the market, perhaps because of the catchy initial line: "Which ... it's raining again ..." This song became a big hit which immediately brought Ratih's name to become a much-loved singer.
Other hits from this album are "Hatiku dan Hatimu" and "I wait for you here". In this album, Ratih also performed a bossas rhythmic song entitled "Cinta Yang Real" which was actually quite ear catchy and sounded different from the whole song which was almost uniform.
