In this post, I am going to show you how to install MJA Smart Remote on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install MJA Smart Remote using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
  3. Once installed, click "MJA Smart Remote" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

[Note 2] about Bluetooth: At the moment, support for Bluetooth is not available on BlueStacks. Hence, apps that require control of Bluetooth may not work on BlueStacks.

MJ Acoustics Smart Remote (SR) is an App for Android pads and phones. SR employs wireless communication technology for use with those subwoofers in the MJ Acoustics "Reference" and "Master-Class" series that have SR enabled hardware (from 2017 onwards). No requirement for router connection but with total autonomous communication between the subwoofer and your Android smart device is achieved using Bluetooth LE data transmission protocol. The App is free and continually under development. Non-MJ subwoofer owners and existing legacy MJ subwoofer owners will still be able to benefit from the visual representation of the frequency response curve shown in real-time from the RTA function display. A fantastic aid to setting up your subwoofer for the best integration with your speakers in a 2 channel or multichannel system.

WHAT CAN IT DO?
Smart Remote offers the ability to communicate with one or more MJ Sub-Bass Systems bi-directionally enabling the App to display the exact settings the subwoofer is using. The changes made via the touch-controlled screen are employed instantly and can be made on the fly in real time as music is playing. A fantastic way to set up and fine-tune your sub-bass system for the purest of HiFi integration.

The full complement of features remains available to the user along with a number of key additional features unique to this application.

Each subwoofer can be allocated a Position Name. (e.g. Left or Right for Audiophile Systems)
Each subwoofer is assigned a Group number 1 to 9 (up to 9 Groups).
Each subwoofer can be muted, either singularly or in Groups simultaneously.
All subwoofers in a Group can have their gains simultaneously increased or decreased.
Real Time Analyser (RTA) provided shows visual effects of bass in the Frequency Spectrum.
Real Time Analyser provides Sensitivity and Frequency Range settings.

With these additional features and the already industry-leading feature set, you are assured of the purest integration and the ability to achieve this all from your chosen listening position.
