This is the free edition of ‘Music Theory - Chords in Keys’; a music theory app for musicians of all instruments.

This app will train you to think your way around musical keys. You will develop the ability to identify chords within keys and scales. This is an extremely useful ability for any musician.

The app will then display a key and a Roman numeral chord number. You then have to work out what the chord within your chosen scale.

This music theory app will also display the notes within each chord and the notes within each scale, allowing you to test your musical knowledge even further, or assist you in working out the correct answers.

In addition you can click 'Play chord' to hear the chord you are being tested on. The tonic chord of the current scale is played, followed by the chord in question, followed by the tonic chord again. This way you not only learn music theory but also develop your aural skills at the same time.
