In this post, I am going to show you how to install Pédagua on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install Pédagua using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
  3. Once installed, click "Pédagua" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

📌1. Why does the app need to use geolocation?
The application uses geolocation to show where the user is in relation to areas with probability of flooding, lightning, rain and wind, it also serves to create a point on the map, after sending an occurrence.

📌2. How does the alert map of areas of probability of occurrence of hydrometeorological events work?
This map shows areas with flood probability alerts, lightning risk, rain risk and wind risk, according to a color legend: Yellow will be low probability, Orange will be medium probability, Red will be high probability.
The map shows areas marked with the colors mentioned and are clickable.

📌3. How does the map work with reported occurrences?
In the occurrence map, points of flooding and rain are shown, sent by the users of the application and each reported occurrence is available for 1 hour.

📌4.How can the user report occurrences?
To report an occurrence the user will need to log in to the application. The user can report from a flood probability alert area by clicking the "report" button within the modal, or from the report map, clicking the "Report an occurrence" button; When clicking on the button, a screen will be opened, for the user to select which type of occurrence he wants to report (Flood or rain), then select one of the three levels and click on report.

📌5. How to Create a Custom List of Favorite Places:
In the option of favorite locations, the user must also be logged in. To access, the user must open the side menu and click on the item "Favorite places";
In the Favorite Places screen, users can search for addresses they want to save as favorites, creating a list of places and creating nicknames for each one. Example: Work, Home.
