Milan Rural is a journey in Augmented Reality to discover the cultural heritage of the Lower Plain Lombarda, in an area between Milan, Abbiategrasso, Bereguardo and Pavia.

The routes, designed for cyclists, run along three canals (Grande, Pavese and Bereguardo) and cover a distance from the ancient route of the Via Francigena.

Milan Rural provides a key to understanding the innovative territory through the social and cultural history of one of the most complex rural landscapes of Lombardy. The territory explored tells the transformation induced by man, of an "area of ​​nature" in a "rural landscape".

Alluvial soils, plenty of water and favorable climates have argued over the centuries human action, generating a complex balance between natural resources and human geography.
The exceptional nature of this equilibrium persists through continuous activities of care and maintenance man.

Delving into the rural Milan is like entering an archive "in the open". Knowledge, cultures, practices, historical influences, social forms, architectures, experiences: a fragile balance between human activity and nature which over the centuries has shaped the landscape of the countryside of Lower Lombarda.
