He was popular during the 90s through the song "Letter of Invitation" and "Between Jakarta and Penang".
Poppy Died on August 28, 1995 at Hasan Sadikin Hospital from complications of ulcers, bronchitis / laryngitis or better known as Diphteri and Rheumatism Suffered. Poppy show last time in Pekan Raya Padang, precisely on August 2, 1995. Actually Poppy health conditions before departing had declined and he was planning to cancel her show, but organizers will remind many viewers were disappointed when Poppy was not present. Poppy was finally granted the request of the committee, for the sake of professional work and his love is so great to her fans.

Returning from her show, Poppy Also had distributed souvenirs bought in Padang to his family, but the next day the health condition Poppy straight downhill. Poppy never want to be taken to hospital Because she preferred doctor treated at home. On August 25, 1995, because of his condition worsened, Poppy was rushed to Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung, and on Monday, August 28th, 1995 at 6:30 pm Poppy breathed his last even after it was unconscious.
