Ping is a tool that improves the experience for home sharing hosts as well as their visiting guests. Using Ping hosts are able to prepare a digital and interactive guide book for a more personal communication with their guests during the stay.

HOW IT WORKS
Ping consists of a system of physical touch points ("Pings") around the flat that interact with the guests’ smartphones. Hosts can put the touch points in different rooms of their homes. By tapping their phone, guests can access relevant information about the room they are in, as well as get recommendations about local places. Hosts are able to curate the information using different media. Where further feedback is required, guests are able to directly communicate with their hosts through a call function.

LOCAL COMMUNITY
Beyond information about the space itself, the system allows hosts to enter information about their favourite places in the local community, like cafés, restaurants, museums or other cultural venues.

THE APP
Guests who are staying in apartments with Ping should install the app on their iPhones. This will allow them to access relevant information about the space by tapping their phones to the touch points ("Pings").

REQUIREMENTS
The touch points ("Pings") work with BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) beacons. Therefor users should have Bluetooth enabled on their phones. An active internet connection is necessary in order to access the information.
