In this post, I am going to show you how to install WDR 5 on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install WDR 5 using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
  3. Once installed, click "WDR 5" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

The WDR 5 app offers the radio live stream from WDR 5 with additional information about the broadcast. You can also jump back up to half an hour in the stream. In addition, we offer all on-demand audios from the radio program for listening, saving and sharing.

In the "Start" area you will find the editors' current listening recommendations on various topics, as well as the most listened to audios from WDR 5. There are also all podcasts/broadcasts from A to Z and links to the playlist and the service pages for recipes, book tips and moderator information.

Are you particularly interested in certain topics or programs? Under "My WDR 5" you can create your personal collection of saved audios and also browse and subscribe to the content of individual programs.

Under "Program" you will find all broadcast times and additional information about the programs. You can also call up specific days.

You can use "Contact" to write directly to the WDR 5 team.

The app and its content are free for you. We recommend retrieving audios from the WLAN or via a mobile data flat rate with a view to the data volume. You can also reduce the stream quality in the settings.

The app uses the following permissions on your device:
