Step By Step Guide To Install Spotlight Timișoara AR using BlueStacks

Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. Spotlight Heritage reveals, by digital storytelling, Timisoara through stories of cultural and historical heritage, of technical development, of communities and neighborhoods, interwoven with the personal stories of the inhabitants of yesterday and today.

-- Navigating through augmented reality --

1. Situated in a certain location, you open the app.

2. You open the photo-video camera and in a corner of the screen, you see a pictogram with the facade of the building which the phone can recognise (to understand how to position yourself to the building).

3. Scanning that facade, you see an image of the old building overlayed on the one in front of you. In the map mode, with all the stations, you can change on AR mode, and you will see the stations around you and the distance to them.

Spotlight Heritage is a digital cultural initiative of the "Politehnica" University of Timișoara realized in partnership with the National Museum of the Banat and with the Timișoara Association 2021 European Capital of Culture.

Spotlight Heritage involves the population of Timișoara and its visitors in a complex real - virtual world that combines the old history of Timișoara, presented as a digital story, through a website and a mobile application; and the museographic exhibition at the headquarters of the National Museum of Banat but also in public places in the neighborhoods, under the title "Timisoara and the allegory of the senses".

In 2019, under the spotlight was the Iosefin district, with the theme of the Hearing. In 2020 we continue with the Elisabetin district.

The open, participatory mobile application contains:

Landmarks - data and information of cultural and historical heritage, geographically mapped, photos and films, with recognition of buildings by augmented reality, 360 images

Sequences - excerpts from the novel Valeria dr. Pintea, offered by the author and images from the archives

Community - information from the history of neighborhoods, communities, ethnicities,
organizations that were or are present in the neighborhood

Your story - users can add their own personal stories, comments, photos, videos

Events - events from exhibitions, guided tours offered with high school teenagers

Inspired by history, we reveal Timișoara's digital stories, stimulate the interest of locals and tourists to see, hear and feel Timișoara's past, to co-create its future through the virtual overlap of intangible heritage, the passion that unites the participating generations of cultural heritage.
