The 4X4 Explorer App is the first of the new generation of Explorer products released by Hema Maps to empower adventurers to get out and explore Australia.

The Hema 4X4 Explorer App has been developed to allow users to plan, navigate and share their remote trips with ease and confidence. Whether it is an offroad 4WD Adventure, a remote camping trip or a lap around Australia, the 4X4 Explorer app is your perfect travelling companion.

- Access over 100,000+ points of interest (POI) including 40,000 Hema verified campsites, caravans parks, dump points, lookouts, national parks and much more.
- POIs have access to detailed descriptions, photos (online), reviews and navigation support. User generated content moderated by HemaX
- What3Words locations integrated into all POIs and supported for "My Location" pages to make it easier to find remote spots
- Route trips and tracks pre-trip using the HemaX Cloud or on the road with intuitive routing engine
- Generate routes to a POI, address or waypoint

Note: 4X4 explorer is not designed for turn by turn navigation and should be used as a guide only. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Most mobile devices come with an in-built GPS receiver. However, it’s important to ensure the device you’re using has an in-built GPS receiver, as this is what enables location services that allow you to track your position. External Bluetooth GPS receivers can be purchased for use with devices that do not have one in-built.

Introducing the new 4x4 Explorer, our team has been listening to feedback, and implementing changes recommended by our user base to make the platform more user friendly. We've also included a significant amount of performance enhancements and updates. This release is a part of our bigger program to overhaul the user experience of 4x4 Explorer (powered by HemaX Digital) and over the coming months we'll be releasing new versions.
