1- WHEN IT WAS BUILT? WHAT WERE THEIR DIMENSIONS?
The history of the Titanic and that of its two twin ships, the Olimpic and the Britanic, had begun to be forged in the mind of Lord James Pirrie (majority partner of the world's largest shipyards, Harland and Wolf), in his London mansion, on the night of June 10, 1907. In this house he met, with Bruce Ismay (managing director of the White Star Line shipping company) and planned the construction of the three largest ships in the world.
That night they also decided the names that each ship would carry. The first would be called Olimpic, the second Titanic and the third Gigantic, name that after the tragedy of the Titanic changed to Britanic. Curiously, this mansion is currently the Spanish Embassy in the United Kingdom.
Titanic was the largest British ocean liner of the time, a colossal engineering work.
Its dimensions were impressive for the time.

2- WHERE DOES YOUR NAME COME FROM?
The name of Titanic comes from mythology. The titans were big and strong. It symbolized power and strength. The "INSUMERGIBLE"
3- WHAT HAPPENED?
The night of April 14 at dawn on April 15, 1912 during his maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, Frederick Fleet, the ship's watchman, alerted the commanding officer of the proximity of the iceberg.
The Titanic released various distress signals but they were not well issued or perhaps ignored. The SS Californian, did not interpret the flares and lights of the morse lamp as signs of help. The radio operator of this freighter did not receive distress messages since he had turned off the device.
The Titanic had lifeboats for some 1,200 people, but there were about 2,200 on board.
4- HOW WAS IT INSIDE?
The Titanic was all luxury and ostentation. The great main stairway was the center of life on board, in first class. It rose through six decks and on its top there was a glass dome that allowed natural light to pass through.
It had a barber shop, gym, tea rooms, several dining rooms, a smoking room and the cabins were majestically decorated with the best ornaments and noble woods of the time. Some sheltered a stove for the comfort of travelers.
5- HOW WAS IT SUN?
According to the latest investigations, there was a fire in the engine room, originated before leaving the port of Belfast and that could have weakened the ship's hull. He agreed that right in that area is where the crash occurred.
The ship began to flood and ended in two when the huge chimney collapsed.

6- WHERE WAS THE WATCH AND FOLLOWING?
The Titanic touched the seabed about 800 km off the coast of Canada. His remains were found about 4 km deep.
Until 1985 it was not located but its recovery is a task less than impossible.
7- STORIES OF THE SUPUERIVIVENTS.
A young Spanish couple told some of the stories of that fateful night. Julián Padrón and his wife Florentina Durán resided in Havana (Cuba) where they made their fortune and took the ship in France on April 11, 1912. It was the safest ship of the time.
Padrón says that one of his companions alerted them by knocking on the door of his cabin and together they ran off deck. There one of the officers commented that it was a minor problem. The water kept coming. It was cold and black and that was when the panic seized them and they ran to the boats.
After a while the order was given to the women and children to get on the boats. They were insufficient. From there everything turned dark.
8- CURIOSITIES AND DATA
4,000 fresh eggs, 15,000 bottles of black beer, 1,000 wine and more than 340,200 kilos of fresh meat, 36,000 oranges and apples and 8,000 cigarettes, 15,000 bottles of beer and 1,000 bottles of wine were stored in the Titanic's cellars.
