ANJO AMIGO is a solidary social network formed by doctors, psychologists, nurses, health professionals, entrepreneurs, professionals and young volunteers to offer assistance to the elderly in social isolation due to COVID-19. This assistance involves connection, monitoring, information and eventual referral for health treatment of people aged 60 or over.
How does the platform work?
In the initial stage, each ANGEL FRIEND can register as a caregiver, family member, volunteer and social entrepreneur, to accompany the elderly, providing information and support for carrying out the various activities they need. Up-to-date data on COVID-19 will be sent directly from public agencies to the platform, allowing all those registered to be always aware of events. All the elderly will also be monitored by the GPS of their cell phone, so that the network identifies the areas where they circulate and can warn them about risk regions.
If COVID-19 symptoms are diagnosed during the follow-up, the care phase will start, with the activation of a telemedicine network, with medical and nursing care. In severe cases, which require hospitalization, patients will be referred to the most empty health units and close to their location. After discharge from the hospital, the person will be monitored by the platform again, in the recovery stage, with the support of caregivers, family members, volunteers and social entrepreneurs registered as ANJO AMIGO, which may be the same as before or others.
