Step By Step Guide To Install Woodworking Utilities using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. Basic woodworking utilities including a board foot calculator, pilot hole guide, trammel length calculator, spacing calculator, decimal to fraction calculator and a dovetail jig calculator.

Also included is a shopping cart which I found missing in other board foot calculator apps. The shopping cart lets you enter multiple board foot purchases along with other types of purchases and gives you a total for all items. You can even save and reload shopping carts if needed.

The dovetail jig calculator is based on a method of cutting dovetails on the band saw with spacers. I saw the technique in a band saw dvd but couldn't find a good example on youtube. With some experimentation, I would think the calculator would work with other approaches that use spacers.
