The Jerusalem Bible APP was created to offer everyone a new reading experience of the Holy Bible. Unique and unmistakable, translated into all the languages ​​of the Christian world, the Jerusalem Bible is universally the most widespread. For the rigor of studies it is the most loved by believers, the most consulted by experts, the most frequented by the lay public.
The various parts that make up the Jerusalem Bible concur together to make it a unique work of its kind.
The references to the verses of other books of the Bible (parallel passages) support the deepening and expansion of the read text: they are used as prompters of a meaning that could be missed.
The key notes construct a thematic path within the whole Bible, favor a synthetic and all-encompassing view of all the books that make up the Old and the New Testament, prevent the reader from being lost in the particular of the single book and they accompany us to understand that the Bible is a book composed of many books.
In the Italian edition, these notes have been further expanded to provide elements that help understand the choices made by the new translation of the CEI (2008), which constitutes the biblical text. The merit of the new edition of the Jerusalem Bible is the great attention with which it welcomes the changes that have taken place in the biblical studies along the 50 years that separate from the birth of the work. The comments allow us to identify the strands on which there are scholars sensitivity and renewed positions. The woodcuts, reproduced from a 1606 Bible printed “apud Iuntas” in Venice (and precisely from the third edition of this, of 1625), embellish the app and constitute a true visual comment, which takes place in parallel with the literary and theological .
The graphic layout was created with particular attention to usability and accessibility of content. The navigation structure has been designed to provide the user with complete information, placing the main sections accessible from any
interface.
Top navigation allows you to search in the chapter you are reading or throughout the Bible. Next to the search, we find the reader settings. From here it will be possible to graphically modify the interface, so as to make the reading lighter according to one's needs.
By selecting any verse in the chapter, different interactions will be presented to the user such as the possibility of saving the verse in bookmarks, adding a personal note or simply sharing. The annotated verses and bookmarks will be accessible from the bottom navigation. From here you can also go to the next or previous chapter at any time. The section of the chronology that makes the reading path of the last week visible is also accessible.
From the notes section, the user can also create real notebooks. Inside them you can go to insert personal notes independent of reading and bookmarks of the various verses, so as to categorize some particular steps according to your own criteria
