African Nyasaland Party ANP is a registered political party in Malawi whose purpose is to address various social and economic challenges
facing Malawi Nation by seeking long- lasting and sustainable solutions. ANP is a non-racial and non-sexist and democratic movement that is committed to work for the broader interests of the people of Malawi.
Formed in 2012 ANP is a social democratic party in its ideological positioning with its leadership coming from various Malawi backgrounds and tribal diversities.
Aims and Objectives:

•To be a voice of the masses and a vanguard of Democracy through robust engagement with our people.
•ANP’s policies are determined by the membership, its leadership and alliance partners are accountable to the membership in terms of the procedures laid down in its Constitution.
•ANP is contesting 2014 presidential, parliamentary and local government elections as a registered political party drawing its electoral support from all sections of Malawi society.
•ANP shall, in its composition and functioning, be non-racial, anti-racist and non-sexist and against any form of tribalistic exclusivism or ethnic chauvinism.
•While striving for the maximum unity of purpose and functioning, the ANP shall respect linguistic, cultural and religious diversity of its members.
•ANP shall support the emancipation of women, combat sexism and ensure that the voice of women is fully heard in the organisation and that women are properly represented at all levels.
•The principles of freedom of speech and free circulation of ideas and information shall operate within the ANP.
•Membership of all bodies of the ANP will be open to all men and women in the organisation without regard to race, colour or creed.
•To unite all the people of Malawi for the complete liberation of the country from all forms of suppression and national oppression.
•To transform Malawi as rapidly as possible into a united, non-racial, non-sexist and democratic country based on the principles of the United Nations Charter and to pursue national reconstruction and development.
•To defend the democratic gains of the people since independence and to advance towards a society in which the government is freely chosen by the people according to the principles of universal suffrage on a common voters' role.
•To fight for social justice and to eliminate the vast inequalities created by years of neglect and underdevelopment or any system of national oppression.
•To build a Malawi Nation with a common patriotism and loyalty in which the cultural, linguistic and religious diversity of the people is recognized.
•To implement once in government the Malawi Economic Growth Action Plan MEGA Plan Vision 2050 to promote economic development for the benefit of all.
•To support and advance the cause of national and world peace, development, disarmament and environmentally sustainable development.
•To support and promote the struggle for the rights of children, the physically challenged and the disadvantaged.
