Hearts Free is a great new addition to the store! Crisp graphics and smooth game play, with the ability to play it both online and offline.

Hearts is a trick taking card game that works in a reverse style. The winner is the one with the least amount of penalty points.

Rules:
Winning the Game

At the end of the game, the player who has the least amount of points is the winner.

Order

The person holding the 2 of clubs starts the game by playing that card first.

Beginning

You begin the game by passing 3 cards to each player. For the initial game you pass to the left, second game to the left, third across the table, and finally not passing cards at all.

Taking Turns

Each turn starts with leading, or when 1 player plays 1 card. This card’s suit determines the trick (hand being played). Each player then throws a card of the same suit (if they have one). After the round, the player with the highest ranking card wins. The winner then takes the 4 cards before beginning the next trick.

Penalties

Hearts and Queen of Spades are considered “penalty cards” and should be avoided if possible. These cards will contribute to the penalty score for a player.

Leading with Hearts

Until hearts have been broken (played on a different suit) you may not lead a trick with them. After the break has occurred, hearts may lead.

First Hand

During the first hand of the game even if you do not have any cards matching the lead, hearts and the Queen of Spades may not be played.

Point System

The game ends when all cards have been played and penalty points counted. The person with the fewest points is declared the winner. In the event that one or more players have accumulated 100 or more points, whichever is lower wins. At the end of the game, more than 1 one player have the same number of points, play continues until a winner is declared.

Shooting the Moon

By chance, if a player ends up with ALL of the penalty cards (13 Hearts and the Queen of Spades) then they will receive 0 points, while all other players are given 26.
