Anonymous (adjective of English origin, which in Portuguese means anonymous or anonymous) is a legion that originated in 2003. It represents the concept of many users of online communities existing simultaneously as a global brain. [2] The term Anonymous is also common among members of certain subcultures of the Internet as a way of referring to the actions of people in an environment where their true identities are unknown. [3]

In its initial form, the concept has been adopted by a decentralized online community, acting anonymously, in a coordinated manner, generally around a goal freely agreed with each other and aimed mainly at the rights of the people before their governments. As of 2008, the collective Anonymous became increasingly associated with hacktivism, collaborative and international, carrying out protests and other actions, often with the aim of promoting freedom on the Internet and freedom of expression. Actions credited to Anonymous are carried out by unidentified individuals who label themselves "anonymous". [4]
