In this post, I am going to show you how to install GovHK Notifications on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Step By Step Guide To Install GovHK Notifications using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. GovHK Notifications provides citizens a convenient way to receive Government information and alerts with mobile devices. Users would be able to choose their preferred types of Government notifications to receive.

Major functions include:
● Receive notification messages from the Government of Hong Kong SAR;
● Select categories of messages they are interested to receive; and
● Share notification messages via SMS, email, Facebook, etc.

Note:
● Notification messages are sent to mobile devices (with GovHK Notifications installed) through Google services, namely Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). Successful or timely reception of notification messages through their cloud services is not guaranteed by the service.
● Using GovHK Notifications, data transmission fees may be incurred for transmitting data through mobile devices. You are suggested keeping track of data usage from time to time.
