The “Pro-Fono Application Deck: auditory stimulation of non-verbal sounds”,
idealized by speech therapist Dr. Sílvia Fernandes Hitos, it is an innovative material that aims to stimulate the auditory function in a playful way, with non-verbal figures and sounds present in everyday life, facilitating learning for patients who speak any language, literate or not.
This material can be used only digitally (via an application for smartphones, tablets and computers), or in combination with the deck printed with 40 illustrative cards (sold separately). It is a product that mixes traditional games with cards with the application's technology, making games more practical and interesting. It is about 40
illustrations of non-verbal sounds of different categories, comprising:
. ten environmental sounds: rain, hitting bowls, hammering, flushing, blender, hair dryer, doorbell, car engine, motorcycle, airplane.
. ten animal sounds: dog, cat, monkey, turkey, parrot, chicken, rooster, duck, horse, elephant.
. ten body sounds: clapping, footsteps, snapping fingers, laughing, whistling, blowing, snoring, baby crying, people talking, people singing.
. ten musical instruments: guitar, piano, violin, recorder, horn, saxophone, drums, drum, bell, tambourine.
Each of the sounds is available in the application and can be presented in isolation or in random sequences pre-established by the application, according to the difficulty of the activity (levels: easy, medium 1, medium 2, difficult 1 or difficult 2). At each difficulty level,
the amount of stimuli presented and the interval between stimuli are changed. The therapist can also choose to use only the sounds of a certain semantic category (environmental sounds, animal sounds, body sounds and musical instruments) or use the sounds
of all categories.
