It is referred to as such because clinically, it presents as a red ring on the scalp, feet, nails, and any skin part on the body. It is highly contagious and people who come in contact with someone who is infected by ringworms can definitely suffer from the same symptoms. It can remain on the skin of an infected person for as long as 4-10 days and it thrives on moist and damp conditions.

There are countless over-the-counter remedies for ringworm but given the many adverse effects that these medications bring to patients, alternative measures have been sought. The ineffectiveness of these also make them quite unreliable so the need for an effective home remedy for ringworm has become quite popular through the years:

A paste can be made from mustard seeds and they can be applied onto the affected areas

Unripe fruits like papaya can also be rubbed on the surface to cure the ringworm

Raw turmeric juice can be used. While the juice can be applied on the affected area, you can also take one teaspoon of turmeric juice plus an equal measure of honey.
