The name Ebiet G. Ade itself was taken from his experience during an English course, when the teacher, who was a foreigner, had difficulty calling him 'Abid' Ghoffar. With his bully accent, Abid is always called Ebiet because in English 'A' is read as 'E'

Ebiet is known for her natural-themed songs and the grief of the marginalized.
Through his songs in the genre of folk pop, country, and soft rock and packaged in ballad formats, at the beginning of his career, he portrayed the atmosphere of Indonesian life in the late 1970s until now.
