On the twentieth day of Safar, the great companion Jabir bin Abdullah Al-Ansari, may God be pleased with him, came to Karbala with his friend, Attiyah Al-Awni.


And when Jaber, upon him be mercy, arrived there, he washed from the Euphrates River, then put on his clean clothes that were appropriate for the visit of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him. Then he scattered something of a fragrant plant on his body out of respect for the Imam, peace be upon him.

Then Jaber bin Abdullah walked to the holy grave, remembering God, the Mighty and Sublime. And when he reached the honorable grave, he said to his companion, Atiyah: Touch him: (Put my hand on the grave - as Jaber was blind.)
