I also read | Level 1 SPECIAL is the first level of the "I also read" application to learn to read based on the Global Reading Method.
It is ideal for boys and girls with Down syndrome, autism or other types of intellectual disability up to 12 years old and for children under 6 years old.
The application "I also read" It is specially designed to adapt to the needs of these boys and girls in order to enhance their abilities.

Throughout the first level of difficulty, the 70 words enter progressively divided by difficulty packages in the different activities. At the end of the word entry cycle, the screens follow each other infinitely with various combinations of words and images in order to continue reinforcing learning.
Reward games are offered at the end of each series of activities.


METHOD

The application is based on the global reading method. The global method of reading is based on the global perception of the word accompanied by an image that shows its meaning. Part of the larger units, phrases and whole words associated with a visual concept and continues with the decoding of these larger units into smaller units such as the syllables and finally the letters.
This method is the most "natural" according to experts, for this reason it is ideal for younger boys and girls, under 6 years old.

Boys and girls with Down syndrome, autism, or other types of intellectual disability do not understand abstract concepts, such as letters i / or syllables. For this reason and for its developed visual memory, the global reading method is perfect for them.

The application has been developed under the pedagogical supervision of the Talita Foundation, specialists in teaching literacy to boys and girls with Down syndrome. At Fundación Talita they have applied the global reading method successfully for years.
