The free App of ARPA Lombardia presents in a clear and simple way the weather data in real time and the forecasts produced by the Lombardy Regional Meteorological Service together with the data and air quality forecasts produced by the Regional Quality Monitoring Center of the Air.

What are its characteristics?

• Air quality data measured by the municipal survey stations.
• Lombardy weather report produced by ARPA meteorologists daily from Monday to Saturday.

The Regional Meteorological Service
The Regional Meteorological Service, active in Arpa Lombardia since 1 January 2004, has a meteorological monitoring network consisting of about 250 automatic stations.
The structure provides a public service of meteorological information regarding the Lombard territory to the public, Civil Defense, environment, health, agriculture and production sectors.

• Weather forecast for Lombardy
• Meteorological monitoring through a network of automatic measurement stations operating in real time in the Lombardy region and the use of remote sensing tools
• Meteorological assistance in support of the regional civil protection alert system, as a Meteorological Competence Center of the Risk Monitoring Functional Center, for the prevention of natural risk and for the management of environmental emergencies
• Applied meteorology: agrometeorology, environment, health, decision support, resource management
• Elaboration and storage of meteorological and climatological data
• Research and development in national and international projects

The Regional Center for Air Quality Monitoring (CRMQA)
With a view to improving the analysis and information activity, ARPA Lombardia has established the Regional Center for Air Quality Monitoring (CRMQA) (Decree No. 659 of 24 October 2012) which has made it possible to directly manage the Detection and therefore, monitoring the levels of atmospheric pollution.
ARPA Lombardia guarantees the estimation of the levels of pollution present throughout the region, the updating of the inventory of emissions into the atmosphere and the study of the scenarios necessary for the development of plans and intervention programs. Furthermore, the Agency is responsible for the implementation of quality assurance procedures to guarantee the measured data.
