How does Mumkin Work?

Mumkin is your conversation partner, a friend in a digital safe space. The idea is to help facilitate real conversations by helping the User shed inhibition and gain confidence through simulated in-app conversations.

Currently, Mumkin enables mock-conversations on Female Genital Cutting (FGC). Our app aims to create a safe space for conversation on the taboo subject, in hope of facilitating real-life conversations that can help in creating dialogue on the topic and therefore abandonment of harmful practices such as FGC. The app has other features too and we hope to expand its scope to other Gender-Based Violence issues and sex education.

The app is targeted at all Genders in the age group of 16-60. Please note, minors under the age of 18 will require explicit parental consent before using the app. The app is not for minors under the age of 16.

Disclaimer: The conversations depicted in the app are purely for educational purposes. The app aims to enable conversations on Gender-Based Violence and social norms such as Female Genital Cutting. All references to body or sexuality are written keeping in mind the highest ethical standards in mind for the depiction of Gender-Based Violence.

The app doesn’t intend to hurt sentiments of any communities, ethnic groups or religion and hopes to create conversations on the subject of FGC and other forms of GBV.
