Escape of the Witch is an action-adventure platformer game, with a Halloween thematic, in which the objective is to complete each stage while increasing your spell power to defeat increasingly difficult enemies and bosses. The Witch (who is controlled by the player) finds herself locked in a Castle and must escape it, but to face the horrors that lie within and even out there in the dark woods is no simple task, so she can increase her power by collecting Tomes of Magic, which are dropped by the overlord's minions. With each enemy defeated, the Witch may improve her power through various options presented to her, and it's up to the player deciding which spells to learn and to improve. These magic spells vary from simply improving her standard fireball spell, up to many other powerful options, such as self healing and cleansing (useful against the hordes' many curses), Lightning (that can be used to dispatch many simultaneous opponents when overwhelmed), Invisibility (to pass into their magic, untouched), and many other spells, each with their own utilities and usability.
