To create a new color with RGB colors, these three lights must be combined on a black screen or white background. These three light sources are called the components of the newly formed color, and each of them can be present in a randomly selected intensity in the newly formed color; they may or may not be present at all, or may be very intensely or completely mixture of all.

The RGB color model is an additive model. This can be understood by the fact that these colors have to be added together in different proportions to produce a color spectrum. The use of all colors at full intensity will give us the white color (where the quality of the white color will vary depending on the structure of the main color source to be used), and their combination of zero density will give us the color black (no light or color is considered black).
