INFORMATION FOR THE TEACHER
For students to write within the standard range, it is important to know the regularities and irregularities of our language and know how to apply them. Poetry and spelling is a great combination! Here the children will work a few spelling rules in an enjoyable and meaningful way.

Goals for student:
- Undertake activities that facilitate the understanding of spelling rules;
- Mastering the orthographic rules of use: M before B and P, R or RR, SS, S between vowels and L or U at the end of words;
- Improve reading and writing;
- Save conventional writing of words;
- Understand the differences between the conventional pronunciation and spelling of words;
- Fix knowledge acquired in the classroom;

Goals for the teacher:
- Provide meaningful activity for the job of spelling rules;
- Encourage reflection and socializing some spelling rules;
- Fix content taught in the classroom;
- Increase knowledge of students;

Suggested approach:
Much of the spelling, it is governed by rules, and can be understood through reflection exercises! When this work is done in pairs (or small groups) it becomes even more significant because students need to talk, exchange ideas and reflect to decide which letter to use in each word.

- First, children should be invited to remember a few rules learned in the classroom:
. M before use of B and P;
. Use of R and RR;
. Sound of S between vowels;
. Use of SS;
. Use of L or U in the end of a word;

- Then propose that play "A dream of a dancer!" Members of the pairs, or groups, should participate actively suggesting the letter that completes each word. It's important to play more than once, because the words are different in each round.

- During the game, vary the proposed registration:
. List other words that belong to every rule.
. Annotate their mistakes and use these words for other activities in the classroom.
. Write more verses to compose poetry, using other words that illustrate the rules.
