Playing Guess The Move with master games is one of the best ways to improve your chess.

How it works

1. Select a player.
2. Select a game.
3. Try to guess the move played by the master.

Currently, in the first version of the application, 6 master players have 10 games. These players are: Carlsen, Capablanca, Kasparov, Morphy, Alekhine and Karpov.

As Willy Hendriks argues in Move First, Think Later, chess ability largely relates to what you've seen before.

By exposing yourself to master moves, you'll gradually assimilate good patterns, and your chess will improve.

But there's more to it than simply seeing good moves. By doing this training, you are exercising your full thinking process, in an environment where there is little or no pressure. You don't have a real opponent sitting in front of you, and you never lose, even if you blunder.

You are training every part of chess: the opening, the middlegame, and the endgame; tactics and strategy.
