Originally released in the 1980s by Artic Computing, Inca Curse was the second in a long and successful line of adventure games for the 8-bit computers of the day. Most fans refer to the game as “Adventure B”, with the follow-up games known by their subsequent letters.
These text-based adventures are generally considered to be the first successful games of the type on the then-new range of home microcomputers and thus rightly earn a place in any “Hall of Fame” list; their popularity kickstarted a whole new genre of game that is still enjoyed to this day. Yet no matter how advanced the adventure games of today may seem, their evolution can be traced directly back to Artic’s ground-breaking series.
This lovingly remastered version published by Pixel Games is faithful to the original, offering retro fans and casual gamers alike a chance to experience the same thrill as the first generation of players did back in the day. However, rather than typing in the commands manually, a brand-new interface is provided for the user, allowing full enjoyment of the thrilling story without the frustration of a mis-typed command.

According to the original instructions:
Adventures are games in which you explore and discover a strange new world without leaving the comfort of your chair. The computer will act as your puppet, eyes and other senses.
In each location you may find objects which you can manipulate and use in further locations to help you progress on your adventure.
In Inca Curse you find yourself in a South American jungle, near an as-yet undisturbed Inca Temple. Inside the temple you will find lots of treasure; your aim is still to get out alive with as much treasure as you can carry… but beware - do not let greed be your downfall! Your adventure is complete when you have returned to the jungle clearing with your treasure. The highest score to date for treasure is 3200 points.
