Genarus is an app that recognises objects, colours and text from your camera and speaks it aloud. It is designed to help blind and visually impaired individuals. It has amazing features: works 100% offline, no account need, no cost, no ads and no limits on app usage and functionality.

It is an academic initiative designed powered by artificial intelligence to offer new possibilities for persons with blindness and vision impairment.

The user just needs to press any part of the screen and the app will try to recognise the objects, colours and text on the image captured. The better the camera, the better the results. We can identify 1500+ objects and any text, then the app speaks what if founds to the user. It is super fast as everything runs on the device, no network delays.
Off course the app can fail in classifying images, so use it with caution. The text recognition, although, is superbly reliable, with a rate of success exceeding 95%.

This is an academic initiative, free of charge and free of ads.
