Aplikasi ini akan menghantar mesej peringatan kepada pengguna melalui telefon pintar, tablet dan juga ipad berkaitan semua aktiviti yang perlu dalam penanaman cili secara fertigasi. Ia turut mempunyai kalendar aktiviti yang terlibat merekod segala aktiviti yang terlibat samada yang dijana secara automatik ataupun aktiviti lain yang dimasukkan kemudian oleh pengguna. Aplikasi ini perlu didaftar terlebih dahulu, namun demikian sekiranya pengguna pernah muat turun aplikasi MARDI yang lain sebelum ini dan telah pun menggunakannya, pendaftaran tidak diperlukan. Pengguna hanya perlu login kata laluan dan nama pengguna sahaja untuk sekali bagi peranti mudah alih tersebut. Antara kemudahan lain yang disediakan ialah paparan graf bagi hasil tuaian dalam bentuk kuantiti danjuga Ringgit Malaysia.

Fertigasi sebenarnya berasal daripada cantuman dua perkataan "fertilization" dan "irrigation". Proses pembajaan dan pengairan terhadap tanaman berjalan serentak. Fertigasi juga merujuk kepada sistem pengeluaran tanaman tanpa menggunakan tanah. Tujuan asal kaedah ini digunakan adalah untuk mengelakkan tanaman dari dijangkiti penyakit akar seperti penyakit Pythium, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia dan penyakit layu bakteria yang kebanyakkannya dibawa oleh tanah.

Selain melindungi tanaman daripada sebarang jangkitan penyakit, ia juga bertujuan untuk mengelakkan larutan baja yang diberikan kepada pokok menjadi terlalu cair (terkena hujan) dan membuatkan pemberian baja tidak berkesan. Fertigasi boleh mengurangkan kos operasi dan inilah punca utama ia diminati ramai untuk menggunakan kaedah fertigasi dalam penanaman. Penggunaan sistem ini secara ketara dapat mengurangkan penggunaan air dan baja. Kos tenaga kerja untuk mengendalikan sistem ini juga rendah.
