Teaching material is any form of material used to help the teacher / instructor teach in the classroom. The material in question can be written or unwritten material.

Teaching materials are a set of learning materials / substances (teaching material) arranged systematically, showing a complete figure of the competencies that will be mastered by students in learning activities.

Teaching materials are divided into printed teaching materials and non-printed teaching materials. Printed teaching materials are teaching materials whose manufacturing process is printed, for example handouts, modules, leaflets, posters and textbooks. Non-printed teaching materials are all forms of material used to assist teachers / instructors in carrying out learning activities as outlined in non-printed technology. According to the Ministry of National Education (2010) examples of non-printed teaching materials include audio, visual, audiovisual, and Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI).

Handouts are a form of teaching material that is very concise. This teaching material is sourced from several literatures that are relevant to basic competencies and the main material taught to students. Handouts are given to students to make it easier for them to follow the learning process.

LKS is a printed teaching material in the form of sheets of paper containing material, a summary, and instructions for implementing learning tasks that must be done by students with reference to the basic competencies that must be achieved. LKS functions to minimize the role of educators in learning and activate students, making it easier for students to understand the material provided. LKS is expected to be able to become teaching materials that are concise and rich in activities. LKS that are compiled by students in this practicum are made in the form of electronic teaching materials.

Modules are teaching materials that are arranged systematically in language that is easily understood by students according to their level of knowledge and age, so that they can learn independently with the help or guidance of educators. By using the module, students can measure their own level of mastery of the material discussed in each module unit so that when they master it, they can continue to the next level of one module unit. If students have not mastered it, they will be asked to repeat and relearn.

Leaflets are paper sheets containing writing in short, concise, easy to understand sentences and simple pictures. The word leaflet comes from the word leaf which means leaf, usually leaflets are presented in folds. Leaflets are used to provide a brief description of a problem, leaflet sizes are usually 20x30 cm containing 200-400 words.

Posters are one type of printed teaching material whose main function is to convey direct messages to many people. Posters are a visual combination of a strong design, with color, and a message with the intention of capturing the attention of passers-by but long enough to instill meaningful ideas in in his memory. However, posters have limitations, namely they will not be able to convey teaching materials in detail.

The PowerPoint application can be used to create electronic teaching materials. Educators can design teaching materials using appropriate tools and animations. Educators can include multimedia elements so that PowerPoint-based teaching materials are able to bridge the varied learning styles of students. In making it, it requires preparation of subject matter, supporting media (images, sound, video), flow charts, and story boards.
