First French course | Nantes and online The program for Première, the last year of secondary French, is entirely organized around the early baccalaureate exam. This is the reason why the work must be followed throughout the year, keeping in mind that the baccalaureate mark is not an end in itself, nor a goal; the grade is only a consequence of the work done, and the raison d'etre of this work is its intellectual utility. This is the state of mind in which I try to put my students of Première: they must not read and learn "because there is the bac", but because it will bring them, from a point personally, to know the lyrical flights of Hugo and to have frequented the tormented poetry of Baudelaire or the Fables of La Fontaine. Students who only work for the mark run the risk of forgetting everything the day after high school, and I don't find it worth the effort.
The note can be seen as a reward, but not as a customs clearance!
