Mercan is a smart city application serving municipalities. Providing instant feedback by detecting and tracking the problems in the city, Mercan decreases the exploration and operation costs of the municipalities and increases the living standards of the surrounding environment.





Who are we?
We are a team that defines the concept of new generation Municipalism. We designed Mercan with the works we carried out at METU Technopolis Information Innovation Center. Thus, Mercan exploration teams provide support for the Municipalities, and check whether the problems of the cities are actually solved with the detection and inspection mechanism. We continue to develop the system, which we carefully designed in every detail with our expert teammates in the field, and we continue our innovative approach. With its system that appeals to both municipal administrators and city residents, Mercan ensures that technology has an active place in daily life. Low operation cost, detailed analysis capability, web-based practical application and the structure that enables situation monitoring form the basis of the technology we have designed.


What do we aim with coral?
Mercan is an innovative enterprise. Why shouldn't we use technology more in the Municipal field? The main goal of technological initiatives and studies is always to make life better and easier. In line with this perspective, we support the process of local governments to adopt the smart municipal concept.
Mercan ensures that the problems of the city are identified quickly and stores the data it obtains in a panel accessible to the relevant people. However, the process does not end with problem detection. Later, it is checked by Mercan teams whether the problem is resolved or not. In this case, the Municipalities do not need organizations with large budgets required for problem detection, and even they do not need to be involved in any work to follow up the issue.
Mercan aims to spread the concept of smart municipality and to solve the problems of the cities that concern the Municipality immediately. In this direction, it assumes the mission of serving as a bridge between the street and the administration. It both reduces the workload of the municipality administration and contributes to the improvement of cities.
