Permission Explanation:

The language of Android's permissions is determined by Google and DoubleDutch is unable to change it. This means that the permissions language can be very all encompassing, even though we are usually not accessing all of the device features described in the permissions list.

Identity (Your Accounts)
This allows us to access the email address associated with the device and present it to the user during Sign In

Contacts (“read your contacts”)
We do this to read the user’s contact to pre-fill the profile filler and the Choose Email part of sign in. This is tied to the READ_PROFILE permission as well. We only look at the “Me” contact to get profile picture, name, email, occupation, and occupation title. This makes the sign in process much easier, as the user is not required to type in an email address or fill out these profile fields manually.

Calendar (“modify calendar events and send email to guests without owner’s knowledge, read calendar events plus confidential information, read your own contact card”)
We require this permission to enable syncing of My Agenda with the device calendar. This is the READ_CALENDAR permission which we need to see if we already added events to the calendar. Without this, we would only be able to add events and the calendar would create duplicates each time you pressed “Sync my agenda”. The permission also lets you add events with guests, in which case it would also email them invitations, but we do not do that.

Location
We require access to the GPS to enable us to track the lat/long of each check ins/status updates. This data is only used internally by DoubleDutch to monitor and improve product performance.

Photos/Media/Files
We require this permission to cache information locally on the device to enable offline usage and faster performance

Camera/Microphone
We require this permission to enable photo sharing features in the app

Wifi Connection Information
We require this permission to use the cellular data network and/or wifi. Enables us to display a notification to the user when they are offline.
