The harmonica is a wind instrument that uses as an important part of its operation to produce sound what is called a reed, and this is, in general, metal. In the case of harmonics, the reed type is free, since it vibrates freely in its corresponding groove.

We already talked about how to compose a song, the different techniques and methods of musical composition. Now we will show you how to compose a song with this wind musical instrument: the harmonica.
The first thing, and although it seems very obvious, is something important: learn to hold it correctly. Then place it in the proper way in your mouth, so that the lips exert just enough pressure to be able to slide how along its path and make the different notes sound.
Harmonicas, in general, produce 2 different tones, one when blowing the air, and another when inhaling it. The sounds it produces, as you exhale or inhale the air will be diatonic notes or cross notes, respectively. Mastering this technique of interspersing some notes with others will give you versatility, and will give your performances more color and expressiveness.

Beginning to distinguish and locate in which part and how each note is produced in our harmonica will be essential for us to be able to interpret a specific melody, and also to get to unleash our improvisation capacity, thus increasing the creative possibilities that harmonicas give us.
