The Nature Club has been functioning since 2008 and I took charge as Coordinator since February 2017. Guest Lectures are organised periodically on Wildlife, Birds and Environment.

Our students participate in various programmes organised by WAR (Wildlife Association of Rajapalayam) in association with other Wildlife organizations. Important Days- World Water Day, World Sparrow Day, Wildlife Week, etc. are celebrated through Street Plays, Skits, etc. Students actively participate in trekking along the Western Ghats, go Birding to the reservoir, forests and into the Campus, regularly.

Our students participated in the V Tamil Birders’ Meet, VI Tamil Birders Meet, Workshop on e- Bird, Pongal Bird Count, Great Backyard Count, Munnar Bird Atlas Survey, etc..

The sightings are entered into the e-Bird website: https://ebird.org that enables one to track our lists, explore range maps and bird migration, explore birds and hotspots nearby and wherever we go, all based on the latest sightings from around the world. In short it is a website that transforms bird sightings into science and conservation.

We have identified our Campus as a hotspot with 70 species of birds sighted and have listed 441Check lists in the e-Bird website. Migratory Birds- Green Warbler, Paradise Flycatcher, Booted Eagle, Ashy Drongo, Barn Swallow, Blyth’s Reed Warbler, Blue tailed Bee-eater.
