In this post, I am going to show you how to install Colorimetric Sensor on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Step By Step Guide To Install Colorimetric Sensor using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
  3. Once installed, click "Colorimetric Sensor" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

Turn your smartphone into a portable colorimetric sensor. ColorimetricSensing estimates the
concentration of a biochemical liquid — such as glucose, triglycerides or urea — directly from
a photo of the sample, with no spectrophotometer, no extra hardware and no internet connection.

The app is the official implementation of the peer-reviewed research paper "Smartphone-based
colorimetric sensor application for measuring biochemical material concentration" (Alawsi,
Proietti Mattia, Al-Bawi, Beraldi — Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research, Vol. 32, 2021, 100404).

**How it works**

ColorimetricSensing applies the Beer–Lambert law to the colour of your images. You capture a
blank (background) reference and a sample image; the app averages the red, green and blue
channels of both, derives the absorbance as A = −log10(sample / blank), and inverts the
Beer–Lambert equation A = ε · l · c to recover the concentration from the material's molar
absorptivity and the optical path length. Transmittance is reported as well.
