How much light the place where you grow receives today, how much it changes from
yesterday, and what that means for your plants.

The usual lunar calendar is still here, complete and better calculated. But what really
decides what an outdoor plant does is LIGHT, and that is what Solana puts first.

NOTE: the app's interface is in SPANISH and FRENCH, chosen automatically.

WHAT NO OTHER APP GIVES YOU

- The two numbers of the day
Every app gives you sunrise and sunset. Plants don't count the day that way: theirs
begins and ends at twilight, because they respond to very low light. At 40° latitude
that is almost 60 minutes more. Solana gives you both and tells you which to use.

- How much changes today, to the second
"Today you lose 2 min 47 s of light." Near the equinoxes almost three minutes a day; at
the solstices, nothing. A different number every day.

- Measure your sky with your phone
Walk around pointing at the horizon and the app builds the real profile of your balcony:
the wall, the building opposite, the neighbour's tree. While you do it, you watch that
building eat into December's sun arc. From then on your sun hours stop being an estimate.

- What does well here, and what doesn't
Every plant asks for a number of sun hours — full sun, partial shade, shade. Solana
compares what it asks for with what YOUR spot gives and tells you how many hours are
missing. It isn't an opinion: it's a subtraction.

- Your frost dates, turned into real dates
All garden knowledge is written as "sow six weeks before the last frost". Tell us when it
freezes where you live and we turn it into actual days.

EVERY CLAIM WITH ITS SOURCE

Open any plant sheet and you'll see the citation under the data. If we have no source for
something, we don't write it.

THE LUNAR CALENDAR, HONESTLY

Root, leaf, flower and fruit days are still here. We calculate them with the REAL
constellations of the International Astronomical Union, not the twelve 30° signs of
astrology, and with the precession of the equinoxes applied.

And we tell you what it is: a century-old European horticultural tradition, not proven
agronomy. If you're going to follow a tradition, follow it well made and knowing what it is.

NO ACCOUNT, AND YOUR DATA NEVER LEAVES YOUR PHONE

Everything is calculated on your phone. No email, no sign-up, no advertising and no usage
statistics: no server of ours knows where you grow.

If you want, you can grant location so the app can pick the weather station closest to your
spot — a few kilometres already shift the last frost date. It is optional: you can choose
your town from a list and use the whole app without granting anything.

It works without coverage. The only thing it downloads is the heat forecast for the coming
days, which is the same for everyone and carries no data about you.

WHO IT IS FOR

For anyone growing outdoors: garden, balcony, terrace or plot. Vegetables, herbs, flowers,
bulbs, fruit trees and cannabis. 51 plant sheets, each with what it needs and when.
