Solu Meets Android
The Solu application allows Android users to transform their device into a feature-rich computer running the innovative Solu OS, without losing their existing Android environment.
Simple & Collaborative
The desktop environment is fully collaborative with Spaces acting as centres for sharing, fun and teamwork. It is a revolutionary new approach that does away with folders, windows and even traditional files. Instead Spaces contain freely placed Cells, which are a combination of both content and application. Share them and work together, wherever you are, online and offline. Instead of opening folders and files, you simply zoom in, mirroring how we navigate in the real world. Apps don’t need to be closed or deleted. Apps are no longer installed but simply launched when creating a new Cell. The user does not have to worry about storage, backups or updates. They get all-you-can-eat access to apps, whilst developers get revenue based on individual app usage.
Cloud-based
Solu is a new type of OS based on the philosophy of computing-as-a-service and connected to cloud infrastructure. This removes the hassle of maintenance, backups and installation. It goes much further than other OSes, by replacing the local filesystem with a large cache of the Solu cloud. This allows offline use and native access to hardware.
Online & Offline
Solu users can work seamlessly between online and offline environments with no disruption to their work flow. Messages sent or data created whilst offline will be automatically synced when reconnected to the cloud.
Flexible
The hybrid nature of Solu OS allows for users to work in a variety of different environments. Connecting a display transforms devices running Solu into a fully-fledged desktop computer.

Known Issues
Password reset is not yet possible (so don't forget it!).
If you have a Solu device, register a new account with the same username, then let us know. We will synchronise the accounts.
Upon first loading Solu, a background data synchronization occurs, which may take up to 5 minutes.
We have witnessed content blanking on occasion, where Cells appear blank or do not load, despite them having content. This appears infrequently and we would value a report if you witness this (see bug reporting below). If it occurs, force quitting the app from Android's settings should remedy the issue.
The Solu Space Environment is currently "fixed" in landscape mode, but Cells generally change with the device orientation.
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows an application to write to external storage.
Allows an application to read from external storage.
Allows an app to create windows using the type TYPE_APPLICATION_OVERLAY, shown on top of all other apps.
