ScanCards App allows you to make a magic trick that gives the illusion of turning your smartphone into a card game analyzer, filling in data that seem impossible to obtain normally:

A deck of cards is mixed and handed out to a spectator who is asked, out of sight (under the table) to cut the deck as much as he wants. Then the spectator will have to take three cards, one after the other, from the top or at the bottom of the deck and put them back UPSIDE DOWN in various places in the package.

The deck of cards is then placed back in its case, and the smartphone is placed on its case. A "scan" button is visible on the screen. After clicking on a scanning animation appears and, 5 seconds later, the button "results" appears in turn. The screen displays the following sentence "There has three cards face down. " Then on the next screen we discover three cards, and it turns out that the three cards match those that were put face up.

The magician offers to renew the experience by mixing the game so as to get cards with their faces up and cards with their faces down. The viewer does it by random cuts and then mixes the deck to get faces up and faces down. The result is an absolute chaos of cards, some with their faces up others with their faces down. The same smartphone is placed on the deck of cards. The "scan" and "results" buttons are pressed in turns and we discover a first sentence on the screen: "There are 19 cards face down". We check the cards whose faces are down and it matches. Another click on the screen will show a new sentence: "There are 9 black cards". We check and indeed it is the case. With again another click, a new sentence will show up: "All the red cards are number cards" We check and we realize that there are only cards with numbers, apart from a face who is the queen of hearts. Then, one last final, click on the screen will display"Except the queen of hearts".

End of the card trick !
