Xarxa Fitosanitària de Catalunya (XarxaFiCat) is the new mobile application of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food (DARP) of the Generalitat de Catalunya, for smartphones and tablets made available to ADV technicians for the management of pest controls in the field.

It facilitates the taking of controls in field for the management of plagues:
· Save time: All your notes in digital format. It avoids having to carry paper chips for data collection in the field.
· Error detection: In-situ verification (using graphs and histories) of the information collected minimizing errors.
· Speed and security in data collection and processing.
· Online / Offline: The application works with or without internet connection. It works perfectly in offline environments.
· Guided to the control points by maps and the routes drawn on them.
· Enriches data capture through photographs.
· Plan work comfortably: Plan work from the office via the web and flip it over on your mobile device to take data in the field. On your return sync again to dump the data on the web and you're done!

Working with the Phytosanitary Network of Catalonia is very simple:
1. Sync using your unique username and password. The app will download all your checkpoints and routes.
2. Choose the route or control point you want to work with and click 'Add Control' on the map.
3. Choose the pest (remember that only pests related to the crop and the current time will appear available).
4. Fill in the data and save the control for each of the pests and also for the phenological state of the crop.
5. Click Finish when the job is complete at the checkpoint and repeat the process for the other checkpoints you want to work with.
6. Finally sync back to your return and all the information will become available on the system.
